876 VOLUNTEER TURNS ONE!

It’s 876 VOLUNTEER’s first birthday! 

So much growth has happened this past year, that I am beyond Great-Full. 

I created 876 VOLUNTEER one year ago with the mission to connect as many Jamaicans and Jamaica lovers to the good causes happening all over our island. I believe we can bridge much of the gaps we feel in our community with more COME-UNITY = Volunteering. 

I believe in this so strongly, I stopped working and I am currently backpacking through every parish of this beautiful island, meeting face to face with as many of our registered welfare agencies. I am getting to know them and the at-risk Jamaicans they serve. I am also learning  what resources they need to continue doing their good works. Then I am promoting them to you 876 VOLUNTEER tribe, knowing you will help me make Volunteering Go Viral on social media.

In last year the GRAM FAM has grown over 1000 followers strong and counting. On Instagram alone I have been connecting volunteers islandwide. Followers comment or direct message their interest when they see an opportunity posted that is in their area. Then I provide them with the contact person for the shelter, school etc. If you don’t have instagram, just shoot me an email with information on where you are and your schedule availability. I can connect via email as well. 

Some of you reading this have already given your details and are awaiting your volunteer details. Trust, I am working hard on this! Connections sometimes take time because I make effort to link you to a cause as close to you as possible, or right in the time you are available, or is in need of your skills or is aligned with your passion. I match everyone as best as I can because the intention of this Movement is to create between both you and the agency A CONNECTION THAT LASTS. 

There is NUFF other behind the scenes work as well. Also larger projects to help plant 876 VOLUNTEER into Jamaican the consciousness.
